lost in translation. lame

whenever i try to talk to an npc i get 101212 (or some 6 digit number) and a short string of korean words. every npc gives it to me. smiithy, tool lady, skils dude. i didnt do any of the beginner quests but thats not it right?

where do i get the latest patch? i have the latest small installer if thats what your talking about?
